Description
This antimicrobial alginate dressing is designed to help reduce bioburden in wounds. Its antimicrobial action is beneficial for managing infected wounds and serving as a barrier for wounds at risk of infection.
Laboratory studies have shown that it can inactivate wound-relevant bacteria and fungi within four hours, maintaining effectiveness for up to 14 days.
The dressing is highly absorbent, with alginate fibers that absorb large amounts of exudate, forming a soft gel that creates a moist environment to support wound healing.
